Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA)
The Office of Cultural Affairs advises Vancouver City Council on issues and strategies related to the cultural sector, develops and administers cultural policies and programs, and participates in city planning and development processes.

Province of British Columbia
British Columbia Arts Council
The British Columbia Arts Council gives people and organizations opportunities to participate in BC’s arts and culture. The Council supports the province’s arts and culture and provides an open, accountable, and neutral process for managing BC’s cultural funding.


Ministry of Tourism, Sports and the Arts (CAWS)

The Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts was created in June 2005, bringing together several program areas essential to the health of our economy and communities: tourism and resort development; sport, recreation and volunteers; arts, culture and heritage; and the BC Film Commission.

  • Cultural Services Branch (CSB)
    A division of the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and the Arts, the CSB implements provincial government policy supporting arts and cultural development in British Columbia.

Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General
The Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General encompasses such diverse areas as film classification, gaming regulation, corrections, and liquor control and licensing in British Columbia.

  • Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch
    The Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch regulates gaming in BC. Gaming revenue supports health and education, community organizations, and local economic development.

Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD)
HRSD is the result of a merge between Human Resources and Skills Development Canada and Social Development Canada. The department works to improve the standard of living and the quality of life of all Canadians by promoting a highly skilled and mobile workforce as well as an efficient and inclusive labour market.
