![]() Summary Advice Clinic Thank you for your interest in the Artists' Legal Outreach Summary Advice Clinic. Who is it for? The clinic is open to artists in all disciplines to discuss art, entertainment, business and intellectual property law issues. All issues discussed must be related to your artistic discipline. Some business issues, such as contracts and incorporation, are acceptable. A referral will be provided to those who have questions in areas of law not handled by the clinic. When is it? The clinic is open on Wednesday nights, from 5 pm to 7:30 pm, by appointment. Where is it? At the Alliance for Arts and Culture, suite 100 - 938 Howe Street, Vancouver, BC How much does it cost? As a pilot project, the clinic is free. Donations to offset administrative costs are both encouraged and greatly appreciated. What can I expect from the consultations? Each consultation with an experienced lawyer lasts for thirty minutes. To make the most of the half hour, provide as much detail on the intake form and include copies of any documents (including contracts) in advance. What don't we do? ALO is not in a position to provide artists with legal representation. Should the situation require further assistance, a legal referral with be provided. How do I schedule an appointment? Fill out the intake form and return via email, regular mail or drop it off in person to the Alliance for Arts and Culture. Every Monday, volunteers will review the intake forms received and schedule appointments for the following Wednesday. Be sure to include as many details about your legal issue as possible. Cancellations? If you must cancel your appointment, please contact the ALO at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time so that another artist may take advantage of this service.
