UBC Centre for Cultural Planning & Development Launches New Workshop Series

The international UBC Centre for Cultural Planning and Development has launched a new series of professional development workshops delivered 100% online. These online workshops are taught by international leaders in their fields and are designed to meet the education and training needs of administrators, designers, consultants, planners and economic and community development professionals.

Upcoming workshops include:

  • Cultural Planning and Processes of Urban Change by Dr. Franco Bianchini
  • Digital Culture and Cultural Policy by Dr. Aleksandra Uzelac
  • Creative Economy and Cultural Planning: The Smaller City Perspective by Dr. Tom Fleming
  • Cultural Planning: An International Perspective by Dr. Lidia Varbanova 
  • Digital Culture and Museums by Anra Kennedy
  • Integrated Public Art by Cath Brunner
  • Cultural Entrepreneurship by Dr. Lidia Varbanova
  • Resourceful Design Innovation by Re-Imagining Existing Urban Assets by Scott Burnham

Each workshop meets online for two hours, once a week for three weeks, combines lectures and small group discussion, and is led by an international expert. There is also an online discussion forum to share information, knowledge and resources and continue the conversation with a small, informed group of international practitioners.

Future workshops will cover a wide range of topics from the fields of cultural policy and planning; arts and culture; heritage and natural heritage; landscape, parks and gardens; and, cultural diversity and human rights.
