Major cultural organizations from across the UK have united to launch Culture UK. The partnership, which includes the BBC, Arts Council England, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, the Arts Council of Wales and Creative Scotland, hopes to "inspire new audiences and enhance the UK’s position as a global creative force."

According to a release issued by the BBC, "the aim is to excite the nation about the arts, opening up funding to a range of arts organizations to make content which can be shown on the BBC, developing UK-wide cultural festivals that can reach new audiences, creating opportunities to showcase emerging and diverse talent, and making the most of technology to inspire new experiences in the arts."

A variety of projects were unveiled at the launch, which was announced by BBC director-general Tony Hall. More information on these projects, and the Culture UK partnership, can be found here.
