The Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance is delighted to announce the inaugural GVPTA Conference Fellowships for Theatre Designers.
This program offers an opportunity for ten early to mid-career professional designers to be featured at the Making a Scene conference and gain recognition and professional contacts in the industry. Selected designers will receive a GVPTA 2012-13 membership, free conference registration, a guiding creative role in Change Labs, and space to present their portfolios to attendees of MAS2012, and other opportunities to continue to grow their industry presence throughout the 2012-13 season.

Applications must be from a single individual – team or group applications will not be accepted.
Applications may highlight more than one area of design expertise.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be residents of British Columbia;
- Since 2009, must have designed at least one fully-staged professional* production OR at least three fully-staged university productions;
- Must not work exclusively in other disciplines (e.g. opera, dance);
- Commit to attending Change Labs and the 2012 Making a Scene Conference, November 29, 30 and December 1, 2012.
*Productions are considered professional if all artists are compensated at least a minimal amount for their work. It is not necessary for the production to have operated under a union contract.
