Celebrate the Arts - Celebrate Volunteerism Conference

Vancouver Opera will be hosting the 2013 Celebrate the Arts - Celebrate Volunteerism Conference on Saturday, February 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Michael and Inna O'Brian Centre for Vancouver Opera.

The Celebrate the Arts – Celebrate Volunteerism Conference promotes volunteerism in the arts in Vancouver and recognizes the contributions of volunteers by providing opportunities for education, networking and renewal.

The theme of this year's conference is "Volunteerism in an Age of Diversity." The keynote speaker will be Donna Spencer, artistic producer of the Firehall Arts Centre and recent honouree of a BC Community Achievement Award. Paul Sontz from Tourism Vancouver will moderate the panel. The concurrent sessions will include a panel with docents from the Museum of Anthropology and Vancouver Art Gallery on what they do as volunteers. A second panel will have hospitality ambassadors from Bard on the Beach, Vancouver Opera, Ballet BC and Arts Umbrella on what they do.
