BREAKFAST WITH IDA CHONG
Launch Culture Days With Ministers Chong & Bell

Join Minister of Community, Sport & Culture Ida Chong, Minister of Jobs, Tourism & Innovations Pat Bell and BC Culture Days Task Force chair Lucille Pacey for a Culture Days launch breakfast, hosted by Vancouver AM Tourism Association.

Breakfast is Friday, September 30 at 7 a.m. (registration begins at 6:45 a.m.) at the Vancouver Convention Centre West.
The cost is $35 for Vancouver AM members and $50 for non-members (HST included).

CBC KICK-OFF IN THE PLAZA!
Live From Vancouver, With Jian Ghomeshi

Be a part of the spectacular star-studded kick off to Culture Days!

CBC and the organizers of Culture Days invite you to participate in an exciting live opening performance to “CBC LIVE – A kick off to Culture Days” on Friday, September 30th at 10 a.m.

Join CBC Radio star Jian Ghomeshi and Canadian Country Music Award Artist of the Year,Johnny Reid, as they showcase some of the best of Vancouver’s diverse arts communities. Johnny will be performing his hit single “Let’s Go Higher” and we need you to be part of his interactive audience.

Immediately following the opening will be a full day of FREE CBC events and live shows starting with Jian Ghomeshi, Steven and Chris, Dragons’ Den, Kids CBC, On The Coast and CBC News Vancouver.

In addition, Culture Days will be hosting a unique performance. We hope you will join us as it will be a day to remember.

All you need to do is show-up at 10 a.m. outside the CBC Vancouver Broadcast Centre at 700 Hamilton Street. Preparations and a mini-rehearsal will begin shortly thereafter and official kick-off is at 10:45 a.m.

Rain or Shine. All ages, all welcome. See you there!

CULTURE DAYS WRAP PARTY AT 560 CLUB
Participating Artists, Organizers & Volunteers All Invited!

560 (at 560 Seymour) is putting on a closing / wrap-up soiree on Sunday evening for Culture Days' participating artists, event organizers and supporters from 6 p.m. to midnight.

"Connecting.The.Dots" is the name of the multi-disciplinary art exhibition and cultural event that 560 will be presaenting during the Culture Days 2011, and this is an opportunity for all Culture Days participants to enjoy the show.

Five Sixty is known for its involvement in Vancouver’s art and culture scene. With over 28,000 square feet of state-of-the-art sound, design, lighting and visual technology, it boasts three stories of nightclubbing, plus the Blanket Contemporary Art Gallery and The Satellite Gallery on the top floor.

"Connecting.The.Dots" will transform the space of Five Sixty nightclub into the temporary art exhibition space, featuring  more than 30 artists in visual, performance, installation, new media / digital arts, photography, video art, design, fashion and music.

The works reflect on the social, political, economic and environmental aspects of community and city life.

During the Closing Soirée on Sunday several live performances are scheduled in order to create more intimate connections between arts and the public.
