Public Dreams Welcomes New Artistic Director

Public Dreams recently welcomed the talented and accomplished Matthew Bissett as its new artistic director.

Matthew brings over two decades of deep involvement with the BC artistic community, recently completing his 10-year tenure as artistic director of Burnaby Lyric Opera at the Shadbolt Centre. His experiences as a stage director, production designer and playwright are combining to help us develop a fantastic vision for the projects ahead.

Matthew adds his voice to those of creative producer Jenny Lee Craig and development manager Jamie Chrest in making upcoming Public Dreams visions a reality. This year the organization marks the 25th anniversary of the widely-loved Illuminares lantern festival at Trout Lake, and is hard at work planning the annual Parade of Lost Souls and Midsummer Fete events, the Language of Rhythm and Spawning Knowledge programs, as well as providing unique artistic experiences through public workshops and private events of all kinds and sizes.
