Festivals, Events, and Eventful Communities

Learn about different models and approaches to events; processes to create, manage and evaluate events; and how to develop policies and practices that support eventfulness and its unique contributions to communities.

Instructor: Robert Palmer is an expert consultant and the former Director of Democratic Governance, Culture, and Diversity at the Council of Europe.

Cultural Tourism: Impacting Communities Worldwide

Explore the importance of one of the fastest-growing tourism segments, its relevance to culture and community development, and how to develop sustainable, authentic cultural tourism practices and plans.

Instructor: Cheryl Hargrove was the first Director of Culture and Heritage Tourism for the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Washington, DC.
