Artists in visual, performance, installation, new media / digital arts, photography, video art, design,fashion and music are invited to submit their work for an exciting curated exhibition Connecting the Dots, presented during the Culture Days in Vancouver and showcased at Five Sixty. Artists are invited to submit a work as a reflection on their community, their city, and political, social, economical and environmental aspects of everyday life. What defines our communities and the art practice in Vancouver?

About the exhibition:

Connecting the Dots celebrates Vancouver`s rich and diverse cultural and artistic character. It aims to catalyze the connection among the public, communities, and artists with varied cultural background and forms of artistic expression.

About the Culture Days:

Culture Days is a collaborative pan-Canadian volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement by all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities.
About Five Sixty:

Five Sixty is known for its involvement in Vancouver’s art and culture scene. This 4 floor multi-media complex has over 28,000 square feet of state-of-the-art sound, design, lighting and visual technology, and boasts 3 levels of nightclubbing, plus the Blanket Contemporary Art Gallery and The Satellite Gallery on the top floor.

- Artist statement (no more then 200 words).- An image / visual sample, (a concept for performance arts) of your work that you will present for the show. Please include size, medium, year of each artwork and any specific instructions for its presentation.
