Upintheair theatre was founded in 1999 by Daniel Martin and David Mott, and incorporated as a non-profit society in British Columbia in 2000. Since then Upintheair has established a reputation in Vancouver for creating original, contemporary theatre. Upintheair's work to date has been concerned with issues of popular culture, coming of age, self-identity and personal transformation. Of course, this is all up in the air.
 
Upintheair produces the walking fish festival - Vancouver’s emerging artist's theatre festival.

With a mission of "inspiring kids for life through the arts", Arts Umbrella is a not-for-profit centre for arts education, offering visual, applied and performing arts programming for young people, ages 2 to 19. While thousands of children participate in tuition-based programs on Granville Island each year, Arts Umbrella reaches thousands more in their neighborhoods through free programs, bringing the arts to kids who otherwise would not be able to participate throughout Metro Vancouver and across the province.
