Place des Arts is currently accepting proposals for its 2013 gallery exhibitions. Deadline for submissions is extended to Friday, March 2, 2012.
Place des Arts seeks artists who create things small and beautiful for its annual Positively Petite exhibition. This miniature exhibition runs from November 10 to December 17, 2011 and provides artists with the opportunity to display their work in time for the Christmas shopping season.
The opening gala reception, a wine and cheese affair, is on Thursday, November 17 from 7:30pm to 9pm, in conjunction with the opening of Place des Arts’ annual Christmas Boutique.
The Gulf of Georgia Cannery seeks photographic submissions for its annual photo contest and archive project Fishing the West Coast 2011.
The photographs you submit to the contest will be featured in an exhibit at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site from August 27th to October 28th, 2011. At the conclusion of the exhibit, all the photos will become part of the Gulf of Georgia Cannery’s permanent collection. You will make a lasting contribution to the record of B.C.’s all-important fishing industry.
