The Workshop
Grant-writing is about as much fun as watching paint dry. Or is it?
In our increasingly competitive funding environment, you need to know how to get your project noticed. There's no way around it – grant-writing is a competitive process. Making ART happen is a difficult task. In order to succeed, you must be able to make your project… irresistible.
Writing a grant can help you to know your project inside out. You want to think strategically about what funding you might be eligible for and how you can break your complex project down into multiple phases of creation, development, production and dissemination. You may realize that you need other collaborators – then you need to reach out to those new artistic partners.
This session will focus on how to write a solid grant which clearly expresses your intentions to create an exciting project. We will explore how to work with grant funders so they can become supporters of the programming that you are deeply passionate about. We'll even talk about how to make grant-writing fun!
