Organization Description: 

The ACT Arts Centre delivers educational arts programs and presents live performances, exhibitions and special events. The ACT Arts Centre is operated by the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Arts Council, a not-for-profit society dedicated to “Bringing Arts to the Heart of our Community”.

Job Description: 

We are seeking a part-time Website and Design Assistant who not only has superb graphic and photography skills but who must be proficient with WordPress and have design experience and video creation skills. The position starts in October 2016 and successful applicants will be required to have a Criminal Record Check completed.


Duties & Outcomes
Working with the Communications Coordinator and under the Communications Manager, this position will:
 Maintain the ACT Arts Centre website
 Ensure photos are taken of required events and Arts Centre programs and maintain the photo library
 Support the distribution of promotions with the creation of marketing materials including rack cards,
posters, and flyers
 Ensure the building has appropriate signage and promotional material following the organization’s
branding features
 Responsible for the layout of the Annual Report
 Responsible for the creation of the ACT Presents season video
 Create a department resource list/binder and ensure it is up-to-date
 Create displays on booth panels to promote Arts Council events/activities
 Assist with other administrative duties including campaign mail-outs


Abilities, Skills and Knowledge
In order to be considered for the position, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
 Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 Must demonstrate ability to thrive in a very busy work environment that involves multi-tasking
 Superior written and spoken English language skills
 The ability to efficiently utilize related software is required (Word, Excel, InDesign and WordPress)
 Strong attention to detail is needed along with demonstrated organization skills
 Must have the ability to work as part of a team and have the ability to exercise discretion &
 Must have post-secondary education including and/or supplemented through related training and/or
considerable work experience in marketing, design and website management
 Ability to work in a flexible manner and accommodate impromptu projects
