Job Description: 

Massey Theatre is looking for new members to join our customer service team as an Audience Services Attendant with opportunities for advancement to join our Front of House Supervisor team. Positions available are casual part time with a flexible schedule. 

Show times may vary from evenings and weekends to daytime mid-week.

Opportunities at a supervisory level will be paid at a higher rate level and include shifts at both the Massey Theatre and the Anvil Centre Theatre.

Massey Theatre is a 1260 seat facility that hosts dynamic and diverse entertainment performances. Anvil Centre Theatre is a flexible 361 seat theatre overseen by the Massey Theatre Society.

Responsibilities: 

This position is responsible for the comfort and safety of the audience through ushering, ticket taking or concession at the Massey Theatre. Duties include but are not limited to: assisting patrons to their seats, lobby set up, monitoring patrons during performances (no food or drink, no photography etc.) and assisting guests with special seating requirements. 

Duties at a Supervisory level include but are not limited to: supervising staff and volunteers during events, liaising with rental clients, general event set up, ensure high standards of service and a welcoming environment to all patrons and user groups are being met, anticipate patron issues and complaints and deal with all issues as they arise and work closely with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of events.

• Enjoys working with a diverse public
• Positive and outgoing demeanor
• Proactive work ethic
• Strong knowledge of theatre or event operation procedures
• Previous theatre ushering or front of house supervisor experience required
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Food safe, Serving it Right and First Aid certificates an asset

Remuneration: 

$15.00/hr ($12.00/hr training wage). Supervisor wage range $16.50 to $22.00
