Description:
This is a two year, part-time contract beginning September 15,2010. We’re looking for an energetic, self-motivating, committed team member to help us guide this vibrant and growing organization.
The Administrator is responsible for maintaining the smooth operations of the organization’s office and day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Artistic Director, the Administrator oversees the day-to-day affairs of the organization: office management; routine bookkeeping and banking; responds to general inquiries; correspondence; facilitating communication among all staff and boar
- Prepares and monitors the Society's operating and project budgets
- Oversees maintenance of organizational files; databases; website; and overall schedule;
- Schedules board meetings; contributes to reports to the Board; participates in Board meetings as required; records minutes and maintains minute books
- Works with AD and other staff on researching potential sources of income; assists with applications to all potential funding agencies and corporate sponsors; ensures that funder reporting and all other requirements are met
- Provides administrative support for the fundraising activities of the Board
- Communicates with accountants and auditors, and assists with year-end tasks
Qualifications:
- Strong administrative, communication and financial management skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with word processing, accounting database, email programs and the Internet
- Flexibility and the ability to respond in innovative ways to the needs of the organization.
- Familiarity and experience with the disability community and issues facing people with disabilities is an asset
- Experience with non-profit arts community is an asset
