Art Camp Assistant
Job Information
The Richmond Art Gallery is seeking an Art Camp Assistant to work with the Gallery’s School Program Coordinator / Instructor for 2 sessions of our weekly Spring Break Art Camp. The Richmond Art Gallery runs a busy Spring Art Camp for children for children between 8-12 years old. Each week will consist of a different group of children who are attending camp from 9am-3pm daily. The Gallery-based art camp provides an art packed week of seeing, thinking and art-making inspired by art in the Gallery as well as art from around the world and through the ages. Activities in the art studio as well as field trips will be a part of the week’s activities.
Successful applicant will be required to undergo a Criminal Record Check.
set up and clean up programming room before and after art-class
prepare art materials prior to and during workshop
assist children with projects and understanding artistic process
assist the Gallery Instructor throughout the day, including lunch-hour supervision
provide direction to classroom volunteers who assist
enjoy and respect children
exhibit basic art making skills
enthusiastic and motivated
clear and audible speaker
