Job Description: 

The City of Abbotsford is launching its 'Culture Lab' programming this summer for 3 community centres. Abbotsford, with a population of 130,000+,  is located in the Fraser Valley one hour east of Vancouver . Abbotsford is ethnically diverse and we want to reach out to all communities whithin the City.We will have programs related to visual and performing arts, different ethnic traditions as well as intergenerational and other diversity programming. We are looking for contract instructors with flexible schedules for a variety of programs.

Responsibilities: 

Instructors will be responsible for;

1. Creating and submitting lesson plans,
2. Providing supply lists with costs and suppliers.
3. Assistance in creating multi-lingual marketing materials. 
4. Set up and clean up.
5. Being flexible to the learning styles of the participants.
6. Creating an open and stimulating environment.
7. Helping to create a database of participants that would like to be on an email list for future
   classes. 
8. Having particpants fill out feedback forms for departmental review.

Qualifications: 

Instructors with a deep knowledge of visual or performing arts practice in more than one discipline and experience with a variety of teaching styles.

Fluency in English as well as one or more other languages.

Selected artists will be required to pass a Criminal Records Check for working with children.  This will be required even if the classes are for adults as the artist may need to cover another artist in case of illness.

Ability to work days, weekends and evenings.

Must have own ,reliable transportation.

CPR with AED training is preferred.
