Job Description: 

The North Vancouver Community Arts Council is seeking an energetic and passionate individual  to  deliver  arts programmes and events at a grass-roots community level by initiating, coordinating and growing established and new arts programmes for the community we serve on the North Shore. This position is also responsible for the  marketing and communication of programmes and events to various audiences  and to promote the Arts Council as a dynamic agency using traditional and. social  media.   This is a  FTE position with the hours of Monday to Friday, 9 – 5 with a requirement for some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities: 
  • Fully coordinate, facilitate and market a number of community arts related events
  •  Coordinate and market an annual three season film series
  • Solicit, interview and contract  artists to instruct art courses, camps and workshops in a variety of disciplines for a variety of age groups
  • Develop, coordinate and market multi disciplined art programmes at two facilities
  • Develop, coordinate and market after school art programmes at local elementary schools
  • Utilize excellent design skills to create marketing materials in-house 
  • Coordinate & facilitate marketing campaigns for programmes & events (including marketing material distribution planning)
  • Manage the administration requirements for all programmes including registrations, inventory, payables and receivables
  • Assist other team members with the delivery of other Arts Council projects & events where required
Qualifications: 
  • At  least 2 years experience in programme coordination and promotions
  • A high level of  creativity in marketing and communications within a limited budget
  • In depth experience and knowledge working with traditional and social media
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships by exercising tact and diplomacy while maintaining the highest level of customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and full access to a reliable vehicle
  • Very personable with a healthy sense of humour and a conscientious work ethic
  • A degree or diploma from a college/university/technology institution

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; in person, phone, online and written communications
  • Skilled in utilizing MS Office and Adobe Design applications for administration and graphic design
  • Skilled in utilizing web-based and social media for organizational communication and promotion
  • A strong ability to multi-task, evaluate and manage priorities

Remuneration:
