Arts Services Coordinator
Job Information
The Burnaby Arts Council is looking for a part-time (30hrs) Arts Services Coordinator/Office Manager with vision, creativity, and good strategic thinking and planning skills, who is familiar with the non-profit community arts council environment.
ROLE: To meet the BAC's mandate to: "Support, Expand, & Promote the Arts in Burnaby"
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Day to day operation of the BAC office & gallery
- Liaison for BAC with members, City & public
DUTIES:
- 75% office related ie: support for programs and directors
- 25% receptionist / gallery hostess
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- COMMUNICATION – Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
o Daily tasks include, telephone, hosting gallery exhibitions, relating to member groups and the public.
o Monthly tasks include: Press releases for gallery, grant writing, and bi-weekly e-newsletters
- PERSONAL –Ability to multi-task, be highly motivated, and meets deadlines,
o Team player, but have the capacity to work with minimal supervision, manage time and organize tasks
- Administrative Skills- - record-keeping (Simply Accounting), MS Office Suite
ASSETS:
- Graphics and web design, familiar with Adobe Creative Suite
- Familiarity with Visual, Performing & Media Arts
- Background in Arts & Culture
- PR, Marketing
- Fund-raising and grant writing skills
- Experience working in a non-profit Community Arts Council environment.
SALARY AND HOURS
- Hours 7.5 hours per day Tuesday – Friday
- Starting Wage $16.00 per hour
