Box Office Attendant - Part-time
Job Information
The Cultch is looking for a highly motivated, proactive self-starter who is able to work under
pressure and provide exceptional customer service. Professional appearance and demeanor are
essential to the position, as is the ability to work in a diverse and high pressure environment.
Reporting to the Box Office Manager, the Box Office Attendant is responsible for assisting
with all aspects of ticket sales, reporting and box office management.
The Box Office Attendant duties include but are not limited to:
- Sell tickets at the box office, over the phone and process online orders
- Maintain accurate box office sales records and inventory
- Successfully complete all box office transactions including, but not limited to, reports, reconciliations for both rental clients and Cultch presentations
- Telemarketing & Group Sales as required
- Prepare box office reports as required for the Box Office Manager, Rentals Co-ordinator, Managing Director, and Director of Marketing
- The successful applicant will have an understanding of the Windows operating system.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 2 – 4 years experience in a box office setting
- Exceptional customer service and outstanding interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills and an ability and desire to learn a new ticketing system
- Familiarity with ticketing software
- Knowledge of The Patron Edge & The Patron Edge Online ticketing software a major asset
- Cash handling & credit card and debit processing experience
- Ability to problem solve under pressure
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
- Database management & research is an asset
- An ability to work in a team environment
- Level 1 Occupational First Aid certificate is an asset
Hours of Work: approximately 5 – 20 hours/week. Most work hours will take place in the late
afternoon and evenings including weekends and are based on the performance and box office schedule.

This job is a union position governed by the terms and conditions of the Front of House
Collective Agreement between Vancouver East Cultural Centre and IATSE Local 118.
Salary: $14.06 / hour plus 8.5% in lieu of health & pension, plus 4.4% stat not worked, less 2%
union dues.
