Ceramics Studio Technician
Job Information
We are currently looking for a part-time Technician for our busy Ceramics Studio. Reporting to the Program Coordinator, this role is responsible for the day-to-day management of our studio, which includes both handbuilding and wheel-throwing areas with an extruder, slab roller and 7 wheels. We have 3 kilns in our glazing/kiln room, and 120 glazes.
- Maintenance of Facility & Equipment
- Firing of kilns, loading & unloading
- Maintaining clay & glaze supplies
- Supervising our Open Studio sessions
- Working with staff
- Participating in events
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
- Post-secondary degree in a related field (Ceramics, Fine Arts) with a minimum of 5 years working in and/or managing a Ceramics Studio, or a combination of education & experience.

Remuneration: $20 per hour
Hours: Approx. 10 hrs/week
Start Date: January 2012, with a few hours of training in December
