Development Officer
Job Information
We are looking for a dynamic individual who is interested in working in a busy, energetic, fast-paced environment to fill the position of Development Officer.
Permanent Position: Beginning January 23, 2012 on part time basis.
• Build and maintain the existing donor program.
• Working with key personnel to foster and maintain VFMF partnerships with key stakeholders.
• Research and develop new partner, sponsor and donor opportunities.
• Manage and steward relationships with supporters, ensuring benefits and recognition are delivered.
• Maintain database and files of sponsors and donors.
• Assist with fundraising initiatives and events including membership drive at the festival.
• Support granting applications and foundation relationships.
• Work with the festival designer to organize all partner, sponsor, advertiser and donor materials for print and web production
• Will have previous involvement with organizing events and festivals.
• Are experienced in, and comfortable with, soliciting contributions with individuals, corporations and foundations.
• Understand the importance of, and have the ability to, deliver superior customer service and steward relationships
with individual and corporate donors.
• Are equally comfortable in the corporate and not-for-profit sectors.
• Have the ability to think creatively and strategically.
• Have excellent written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Are comfortable working within tight deadlines.
• Have excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Are passionate about music and the arts and have an appreciation for their intrinsic value and the role they play in shaping and enriching our society.
• Are proficient with computers and standard office programs, preferably in a Mac environment.
We are looking for someone with a passion for music and the arts, a sense of humour, the ability to work as a member of a creative team as well as independently.
