Job Description: 

Video Out Distribution, part of the VIVO Media Arts Centre, is a non-profit distributor of video art and documentary works. We maintain a collection of independently produced video artworks, which we distribute to festivals, galleries, broadcasters and libraries internationally. Responsibilities: 

The Distribution Assistant works closely with the Distribution Coordinator and is primarily responsible for responding to general queries by artists and exhibitors, open festival calls, administrative support for acquisitions, title accessioning and basic financial transactions. The Distribution Assistant carries out exhibitor and marketing research, organizes special projects, and works extensively with e-mail and database software. The Distribution Assistant is also familiar with the day-to-day running of Video Out and covers for the Distribution Coordinator when they are off-site.

Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, computer fluency and a capacity to juggle multiple tasks to deadline using Mac OS, Word, FileMaker, and Excel.  Understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator, DVD Studio Pro and Final Cut Pro would be an asset. This position also draws upon a strong understanding of the festival programming process, video and media art in Canada, artist run culture and VIVO’s mandate.

Remuneration: 

Part-Time 12 hours/week (flexible hours)
Wage: $15/h
