Place des Arts is searching for a Financial Coordinator to fill a part-time, 30 hours per week, maternity leave position.
PdA is a multidisciplinary arts centre offering a variety of innovative courses in music, visual arts, dance and drama. Place des Arts also hosts a dynamic program of concerts, festivals and special events, and rotating exhibitions of original works in the galleries and gift shop. The Financial Coordinator reports to and works closely with the Executive Director, other staff and contractors in implementing the financial procedures and policies of the arts centre & music school.
Prepare a complete set of books including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations and monthly financial reports Human resource administration File all government forms Prepare year-end for auditor Assist in preparation of the annual budget Prepare information for Board meetings and act as recording secretary for the Board
College/Technical Institute diploma in Finance or Accounting or equivalency to 3rd level CGA and/or related experience. Computer proficiency in Simply Accounting, Microsoft Office Suite, and working knowledge of CLASS would be an asset Excellent organizational skills Experience in finance within a non-profit community organization Strong communication skills Excellent time management skills Self directed and self motivator
