HEY! You like performing arts, RIGHT?

And you love being part of a team!  yep!

It takes more than the performers on stage to get a show up and running. These behind-the-scenes stars are the people that make sure the performances really shine.  They’re the lighting designers, stage managers, technicians, publicists, marketers, administrators, customer service staff and so many more important people.  And we want to invite you to participate!

You’ll benefit so much from this program and you’ll receive training in:

  • Occupational Health & Safety First Aid Level One
  • Serving It Right certification
  • WorldHost Fundamentals (formerly SuperHost)
  • FoodSafe
  • Introduction to production, theatre administration, customer services, publicity and marketing and day-to day arts management
  • Life skills workshops
  • Plus, job experience working with artists, technicians, administrators, and the community

When this program concludes, you’ll have improved prospects and skills that employers are looking for!

Check it out! Totally worth it.

The Firehall Arts Centre and ACCESS (Aboriginal Community Career Employment Society) have come together to create this great opportunity.  The internship will run over a period of 16 weeks with a winter break starting October 4th and provide individualized training and compensation for four (4) participants to obtain and/or increase their job readiness skills to enter into entry-level positions in the arts.  The program will train in several key areas adjacent with the services, administration and production of a thriving theatre organization.

Participants will be individually selected to train in the following departments:  Box Office/database management, Customer Service Management including Front of House/Bar, Technical Production, or Publicity/Marketing/Outreach.  You’re interested!  You know you are!
