The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts is looking for auxiliary/on-call combination of Box Office Attendants/Front of the House Supervisors.
Duties of the Front of House Supervisor: Coordinating and overseeing the Front of House operations at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts. This involves supervision of volunteer ushers, liaising with theatre user groups, concession, box office, theatre technicians and stage management. Along with ensuring theatre policy and procedures for emergencies and audience control are upheld to ensure the comfort and safety of patrons, duties include handling customer complaints and resolving problems as required, as well as completing paperwork as required.
Duties of the Box Office Attendant: Processing phone and in-person ticket sales for Shadbolt Centre for the Arts events and renters' events including will-call and show night sales; balancing each shift's sales and processing paperwork; handling customer inquiries and complaints; updating events mailing list and other related work.
Qualifications of the Front of House Supervisor: Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by customer service and supervisory experience; knowledge of theatre operations; extensive experience in dealing with the public; ability to exercise sound judgment, leadership abilities and initiative; knowledge of principles involved in coordinating and administering the activities and operations of a theatre; and familiarity with box office ticketing software or reservations systems. First aid training is desirable.
Qualifications of the Box Office Attendant: Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by hospitality or customer service; knowledge of theatre operations; computer skills including box office ticketing software or reservation systems; experience in dealing with the public; ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative.
