Fundraising Coordinator
Job Information
The Satellite Video Exchange Society seeks a self-directed, motivated individual for the position of Fundraising Coordinator. This is a short-term position created to assist the Fundraising Committee in the development and implementation of our Fundraising Strategy. This four month position has a two-fold responsibility: help build the fundraising infrastructure necessary for successful major campaigns, while also coordinating fundraising activities and events in the fall/winter of 2010. There is a possibility of extension as the project evolves.
- In conjunction with staff and the Fundraising Committee, take the lead on organizing at least one fundraising event to take place this winter (2010).
- Make calls to our donor and alumni lists to update contact information and survey interests.
- Assist with development of survey questions and database fields.
- Update and add to the database of contacts, members, workshop participants, donors, members, and others as directed.
- Assist with the implementation and transfer of existing data to Salesforce.com, and support other staff to learn its use.
- Meet with VIVO management collective and Fundraising Committee members regularly to adjust priorities and tasks as needed.
- Take initiative to assist staff and volunteers with and ensure the completion of research, development and implementation of the database systems and their related policies and procedures.
- Minimum of 2 years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
- Minimum of 2 years with grant writing experience.
- Previous experience in community-based, membership-driven arts organization essential. Direct experience with artist-run centres a strong asset.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as experience with relational database software and Internet skills.
- Salesforce.com experience an asset.
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, or public relations.
- Experience working in deadline-driven environments.
