Instructor - Spring Break Museum Camp
Job Information
The Richmond Museum runs a busy spring break camp for children about what goes on behind-the-scenes of a museum and how an exhibit comes together. Using this knowledge, children create and mount an exhibit for public display. Each week-long camp runs from Mon-Fri, 9am-3pm, March 12-23.
The Instructor is responsible for developing and delivering this program under the direction of the Educational Programs Coordinator.:
1. Preparing all materials and resources for each week of camp
2. Maintaining a positive and healthy learning environment
3. Maintaining active supervision, especially during out trips
4. Liaising with Museum staff and parents
5. Supervising and directing a team of high school volunteers
6. Evaluating and providing feedback about this program
The successful applicant will have completed a minimum of 3 years of university or college with a background in museum studies, history or education, or have related experience in a museum, heritage site or a cultural setting. S/he will have substantial experience teaching children in a supervisory capacity. A criminal record check is required.

An extra day prior to the start of camp is provided for preparation.
