Kaleidoscope General Manager
Job Information
Kaleidoscope Theatre Productions Society invites candidates to apply for the position of General Manager. The position is full time (salary and benefits) and the projected start date is July 26, 2010.
Kaleidoscope is a not-for-profit, professional Theatre for Young Audience based in Victoria, BC with a current operating budget of $550,000. The Theatre's mission is to create original, innovative and relevant theatre experiences that stimulate and inspire young people and their communities. Over the past eight years Kaleidoscope has seen a revitalization of its programming and operations, which now include two main stage plays, school tours, a Family Series, a Theatre School, and numerous outreach programs
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager works with the Artistic Director to fulfill the Society's goals. Supported by a small staff, the General Manager has responsibility for the production and administrative management of the Society.
The ideal candidate should have experience as a senior arts administrator and possess strong leadership, development, and marketing skills. The ideal candidate should also possess: strong grant and proposal writing skills; experience in financial management; the ability to effectively build and manage relationships with everyone from senior funders to artists, schools, customers, and volunteers; the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment; a demonstrated passion for the arts; and an understanding of Theatre for Young Audiences.
