Marketing/Event Assistant
Job Information
The Contemporary Art Gallery is seeking a Marketing/Event Assistant to help in the preparation and promotion of an annual Gala Dinner & Art Auction. The Marketing/Event Assistant will perform these duties during a 12 week period at 35 hours per week. The position will be conducted in English and will begin June 7, 2010 and end August 27, 2010.
This is a summer student position funded through the Young Canada Works program.
Duties will include:
- sourcing vendors and materials
- planning and producing marketing materials for print and online
- coordinating the production of a printed promotional auction catalogue
- identifying and producing event specific documents (artist dossiers, bid forms etc.)
- liaising with involved parties and ensuring deadlines are met
- record keeping
- A background or demonstrated interest in event planning
- Enrolled in a post secondary institution in marketing or related program
- Knowledge of social media marketing an asset
- Must be able to work in a PC office environment, using all MS Office software
- Excellent time management skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
and priorities
- Careful attention to detail
- Excellent communication abilities and experience working in a team environment.
- Creative problem solving
Applicants must currently be a full-time student between the ages of 16-30, returning to studies in the Fall and not employed in another full-time job. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Hours are Monday to Friday 10 am - 6 pm
Salary: $15.00 per hour, plus a percentage in lieu of benefits
