Job Information
CARFAC is an artist-run, nonprofit association of professional visual and media artists founded in 1968. Certified under federal Status of the Artist legislation as the collective bargaining representative for visual artists, CARFAC defends artists’ economic and legal rights, as well as educating the public on fair dealings with artists. CARFAC BC was incorporated in 1990 and our primary goals are to advocate for visual artists in BC and to provide information that may assist in their ability to flourish.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Membership Coordinator is responsible for the day-to day management of the Society’s operations including processing memberships, responding to membership requests, filing, updating face book and website, and other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will be an independent self-starter who can take responsibility for the continued development of this exciting organization.
* excellent written and verbal communications skills,
* computer literate - ability to manage various forms of electronic communication (email, facebook, voicemail, desktop publishing, internet sites)
* highly organized and reliable
* self motivated and directed, work well with little supervision
* basic problem solving skills, ability to improvise and innovate
* experience with promotion, advocacy and marketing an asset
* commitment and education in the arts an asset

Flexible hours in our Vancouver office requiring up to 8 hours a week of work at $15. per hour. We are looking for a person who can help us grow this position into more substantial hours, responsibilities and pay.
