Part-time Registration/Reception Clerk
Job Information
Place des Arts is a multidisciplinary arts centre the offers a year-round schedule of classes in music, visual arts, dance, and drama. Place des Arts hosts a dynamic program of concerts, festivals and special events, as well as rotating exhibitions of original works in the galleries and gift shop.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Reception/Registration clerk responds to inquiries in person and by telephone, registers students, performs gallery, gift shop and concession sales and supports program and administrative staff in operations.
1. Open and lock the building.
2. Respond to customer inquiries.
3. Register clients.
4. Sell tickets for programs and events and items from the gift shop.
5. Prepare cash, Interac and Visa/MasterCard deposits.
6. Prepare memos, notices and other documents as required.
7. Liaise with cleaning & maintenance contractors and faculty to indicate any items to be attended.
8. Maintain client account information (entering and updating contact information).
9. Perform exhibition hosting duties, as required.
10. Other duties as required.
• First-rate written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent command of both written and spoken English. Working knowledge of another language that could include: French, Korean, Mandarin or Cantonese is an asset.
• Good knowledge of basic office procedures and good keyboard skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office suite skills.
• Experience using Active Network’s CLASS registration software is an asset.
• Ability to multi-task in a busy environment with a strong desire to provide exceptional customer service.
• Current First Aid / CPR certification.
