Private and Group Guitar Instructor
Job Information
Place des Arts is currently seeking a guitar instructor for private ongoing music lessons and group classes for children and teens the 2010-2011 school year.
Place des Arts (PdA) provides quality arts education in visual arts, music, dance and drama for all ages and skill levels. We offer a friendly, non-competitive environment where students are encouraged to learn and to develop an appreciation of the arts. The centre boasts fully equipped fibre arts and ceramic arts studios, five multi-purpose rooms, eight private lessons studios (four with studio grand pianos), and a main hall with a concert grand piano.
Private lesson curriculumn is determined through consultation between the teacher and parent/student.
Group classes introduce basic musical concepts and guitar technique to youth in a non-competitive, supportive environment. The instructor is expected to develop the curriculum and appropriate handouts for this program.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent
• Minimum of two years teaching experience working with students of various abilities
• Highly responsible and punctual
• Possess a fun, up-beat personality that can enthuse and inspire our students
• Thoughtful, energetic and passionate about teaching
• Eager to participate in and contribute to our vibrant centre

Instructors are contracted to a self-employment contract agreement. PdA coordinates studio space, scheduling, registration and program promotions.
