Join the team that creates and develops Canada’s most prestigious modern and contemporary annual art event.  The Toronto International Art Fair currently in its twelfth annual production showcases leading galleries from around the world along with national and international publications, art institutions and exciting art projects.

Working in the downtown Vancouver office the Production Assistant will work as an integral member of the fair’s small production team reporting directly to the Vice President/Show Director.  The successful candidate will provide key administrative support and production assistance.  It will involve liaising with national and International galleries, national art institutions and an array of creative people to assist in the production, growth and marketing of the fine art event.  This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and innovative individual looking to work in all aspects of the show from start to finish. 

Responsibilities: 

Key Accountabilities  

  • Assist Show Director on all aspect of show production;
  • General office administration;
  • Liaise with exhibitors, partners, show service providers and suppliers;
  • Coordinate the printing and distribution of collateral materials;
  • Research industry and market related news/announcements;
  • Manage exhibitor accounts including services, invoicing and production deadlines;
  • Maintain various databases including: SalesForce; EBMS; web-database and Bettermail html email communications;
  • General Admin support including contracting, sales and marketing support.
Qualifications: 

Minimum Qualifications/Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a degree in marketing or a related discipline, and at least 2 years of experience working on events and/or as a coordinator or assistant in a fast-paced environment.

 

Additionally, the candidate should have the following:

  • An appreciation for the visual arts;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organization skills;
  • Self starter and ability to take ownership of projects and see through completion;
  • Excellent computer/technical skills using outlook, database management, Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc.)
