Job Description: 

We are looking for an experienced marketing professional to solicit sponsorships for the upcoming production of Confessions of the Other Woman, Feb 22 – March 17, 2012. The production takes place in three consecutive venues, the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, Performance Works and Evergreen Cultural Centre with an ad campaign in the Georgia Straight, transit shelters and daily newspapers in three cities.
The role involves calls to likely targets, as well as supporting board members who are approaching their own connections. A sponsorship package has been developed, that is open to change.
We are seeking someone to start immediately. While the deadline for applications is Oct. 20, if we find a suitable candidate earlier, we will fill the position.

Responsibilities: 

• Develop list of potential sponsors who will benefit from their association with urban ink and the exposure provided by the production
• Finalize sponsorship package
• Initiate contact, and follow up to promote the right list of benefits for the interests and commitment of each sponsor
• Ensure we fulfill all commitments, through logo placement, etc and coordinate with the marketing director
• Support board members, who may be inexperienced, in making an initial contact, and follow up with these leads

Qualifications: 

People of Aboriginal or of racialized cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply
You will bring to urban ink:
• university or college degree in marketing, commerce, communications or equivalent experience
• confident, can-do attitude, great at establishing relationships quickly
• proven experience in raising funds for an arts production

Remuneration: 

This is a part-time Project taking place over 5 months. Fee is commensurate with experience and partially based on commission.
