The Sunset Theatre is looking for a Stage Manager/Production Assistant to fulfill the duties as rehearsal SM, running the shows, load-in and strike, hanging and focusing lights, theatre maintenance as required, organizing and other duties as required. Working closely with the Technical Director of the Theatre, Dave Jeffery and Managing Artistic Directors Dirk van Stralen and Julia Mackey, this position is an ideal opportunity for a theatre student wanting to further their career in the professional theatre. The position will cover hands on experience with lighting, sound, set design and construction, artist liaison, and much more.
The Ideal Candidate will have...
A sincere desire to pursue a career in the professional theatre. High School or Post high School experience at a theatre school or theatre company. Must be willing to live in a small remote mountain town in the Cariboo with little access to urban amenities for extended periods of time. The ability to mix and mingle and build relationships the with local population and tourists. Must be returning to school in the fall
