Light The Stage Musical Theatre Company
Light The Stage programs provide a holistic approach to learning - we develop the whole person. While children learn about the performing arts (singing, acting and dancing) they also learn how to be a better person both individually and within a community. This involves team building, problem solving, acting as role models, leadership skills and self discipline.
Our company proudly creates original work with the intention of making a positive impact on its audience, exploring ideas surrounding healthy and conscious living, healing, evolution, community growth, caring for the environment and creating positive change in the world. We also create adaptations of well known musicals that contain some of these positive ideas and messages or which help to think about a life lesson that may positively impact our campers.
We provide quality performing arts education to participants aged 8 through 14. We create a fun, safe, nurturing and non-competitive learning atmosphere and offer the expertise of talented and experienced performing artists and arts educators.
We believe that each individual carries an inner bright light that contributes to the success of our projects. We strive to nurture and embrace these unique gifts and take great care with each young artist as we provide education and experience in the performing arts.
Each year we offer August Summer Musical Theatre Camp. This years camp will be taking place on the UBC Campus with a final performance in the Dorothy Somerset Studios. Camp runs August 15-19 with informal auditions for all registrants on August 7th.
Registration open until August 5, 2011
