Vancouver International Dance Festival
The Vancouver International Dance Festival (VIDF) is a social-profit, artist run exhibit that takes to the stage during March of each year. We aim to share with you the most cutting-edge, thought provoking, visually stimulating, exciting new dance works we can find.
The mission of the Vancouver International Dance Festival (VIDF) is to increase public appreciation of the art of culturally diverse contemporary dance through the presentation of high-quality dance performances and workshops by outstanding culturally diverse dance artists that are focused on the body as an instrument of communication, who are interested in kinetically exciting work, and who are interested in advancing the art of contemporary dance through personal innovation, experimentation, rigor, and physical discipline. We also aim to increase the public profile of culturally diverse contemporary dance practice through effective marketing in print, television, radio and through the internet.
We are devoted to bringing world-class dance artists from around the globe here to leave behind their incredible legacies, and enriching our community through the presentation of strange performances cultivated on alien shores.
Join us for the 10th Anniversary of the Vancouver International Dance Festival, March 12-21, 2010. Definitely NOT your grandmother's dance festival. Unless your grandmother is into wicked cool contemporary art and dance.
