CCBC’s Social Enterprise Program on Granville Island – Crafthouse – is looking for a team of weekend volunteers to help out in the running of the store.

Volunteer Opportunity Description: 

The Craft Council of British Columbia (CCBC) provides leadership in the craft community by building and promoting the development, viability and appreciation of Canadian Fine Craft. CCBC’s Social Enterprise Program on Granville Island – Crafthouse – is looking for a team of weekend volunteers to help out in the running of the store.

You must be available on Saturday or Sunday (or both!) for a four hour shift: 10am-2pm, or 2pm-6pm. You will be volunteering as a Retail Assistant in the store and all necessary retail training will be provided. This role is open to everyone, but is particularly well suited to art students wishing to gain additional credit.

Responsibilities: 

You will be volunteering as a retail assistant in Crafthouse - you will need to manage the register, taking sales and and payment from customers. You will be confident in interacting with customers and happy to learn about craft and artist processes! You will also be helping out with the "behind the scenes" aspects of the store - from label printing and inventory to light cleaning of jewelry/displays.

Full training will be given to all volunteers.
