Coastal Sound Music Academy
Nov. 21, 2017
Coastal Sound’s mission is to TRANSFORM LIVES and BUILD COMMUNITY, through music. Over the past 28 years, thousands of children, youth and adults have had opportunities to find their voice, to serve as ambassadors and leaders, to connect profoundly with others around the world, to grow as global citizens and artists, and to enrich the cultural fabric this area. Each year it seems, the yearning people have to genuinely connect with others and with their community, grows. Coastal Sound aims to fill this need, and we do it all through the lens of choral music. We say that we aren’t just training musicians- we are nurturing caring, creative and joyful people!
Thanks to the support and generosity of donors to our bursary fund, financial hardship doesn’t have to be a barrier to participation in the choirs. Coastal Sound Music Academy is able to offer top-notch choral programs taught by inspiring, award-winning and nationally recognized music educators.
Thank you for your support!
Volunteer Opportunity Description:
For the seventh year in a row, Coastal Sound Music Academy is excited to manage the Christmas tree lot at IKEA Coquitlam. Through our continued partnership with IKEA, Coastal Sound is able to fund our music education and bursary programs, so that every singer is given the opportunity to develop and share their love of music.
While most of our volunteers are connected to our organization, we know that there are many people living in the Tri-Cities eager to give back to the community and get into the holiday spirit.
Please review our volunteer positions. Anyone 16 and older is welcome to join our volunteer team and sign up for shifts. We understand that your time is valuable and every contribution helps. We thank you so much for support of Coastal Sound Music Academy!
Our Tree Unloading team is responsible for stocking the Christmas tree lot with new trees. Volunteers must be available for at least 3 hours and prepare to move trees off trucks to display on the lot. If you are strong and able, or looking to stay active over the holidays, join us!
