Gallery Installers
Volunteer Information
Port Moody Arts Centre is the Heart of the Arts in Port Moody. Housing three gallery spaces, studio space to accomodate classes in many arts disciplines and a wonderful hub for arts minded people, the Arts Centre is a not for profit organization serving the creative needs of the community. On Tuesdays between 10am and 2pm, prior to each Gallery Opening, a team of volunteers, working under the direction of the Gallery Coordinator, install the next show.
Working cooperatively, lifting art work, climbing ladders, hanging paintings, moving plinths, adjusting angles and discussing art, these volunteers experience the fine art of installing a gallery show while spending time with people of like minds. There are generally 9 Gallery Shows per year and the Volunteer commitment is approximately 4 hours/month.
Port Moody Arts Centre invites those with gallery experience or those interested in installing gallery exhibitions to submit volunteer applications.
Submit a letter of application before Friday June 24, 2011 to: Ruth Hoyem, Programming & Volunteer Coordinator, Port Moody Arts Centre rhoyem@pomoarts.ca fax:604-931-2052 or in person at 2425 St Johns Street, Port Moody BC
