Light The Stage Musical Theatre Company seeks VOLUNTEERS
Volunteer Information
We are looking for fun, energetic and committed people (age 16 and older) interested in volunteering to assist with our 2011 summer program. Qualified applicants must be very interested in working with young people aged 8-14 in a fine arts setting. You will work closely with the Director, Choreographer and Music Director. Familiarity with theatre, music and dance performance and education is an asset and preferences will be given to those with experience.
- August 7th 1:30 - 4:00pm
- August 15 - 19 8:30 am - 4:00 pm daily (includes 1 hour lunch break and at least two 15 minute breaks)
- 1 or 2 prep days working with our instructors prior to camp. (dates TBA)
- 1 or 2 staff production meetings prior to camp (dates TBA)
You will assist the Director, Choreographer and Music Director with leading music, theatre and dance related activities and games. You will also provide support during the rehearsal process, dress rehearsal and final performance. Each day you will be responsible for helping campers get their belongings settled and then gathered at the end of the day. You will also be responsible for assisting with daily set up and clean up.
YOU:
- are excited about the performing arts and performing arts education.
- believe that the medium of theatre can be used as a tool to develop more than "just a show"
- have experience working with children, youth and teens or a strong desire to gain experience.
- are eligible and willing to receive a criminal record check or have had one done recently.
- are able to commit to the days/times listed above and are willing to be flexible in finding days/times for the meetings that haven't yet had dates set
- are willing to take direction and try new things.
- can provide us with a resume and work references.
