Volunteer for Art and Copyright Event
Volunteer Information
We are recruiting volunteers to help with our event entitled "Art, Revolution and Ownership: Artists in Conversation with Copyright" on September 8, 9, 10, 11. Details about the event can be found at http://aro.artistslegaloutreach.ca.
From September 9-11, we are holding an exhibition in three rooms of the Waldorf Hotel as part of the New Forms Festival. We need volunteers on these three days to document the event. Volunteers will be expected to engage with the audience - volunteers are not expected to have answers about the copyright issues raised in the pieces, but to help foster discussion and thought. Volunteers who are able may be asked to participate in social media on the day of the event. Morning, afternoon and evening shifts are available. On September 8th, we are remounting a dance piece at the W2 and will be needing a few volunteers to help set up the space and direct the crowds. Afternoon and evening shifts are available here. On September 10th, we will host a few panel dialogues featuring local artists as well as copyright and communications scholars. On this day, we will need volunteers to coordinate the panelists, arrange/direct seating. Afternoon shifts are available here.

This is a great opportunity to meet and talk to artists, to hear how copyright as a legal issue has affected their work, and to educate yourselves as young artists in basic copyright law. Please email your interest and a little bit about yourself to Stephanie Wong at artistslegaloutreach@gmail.com.
