Call for Artists Description:
Kickstart Disability Arts and Culture is a Vancouver-based non-profit registered charity, founded in 1998, with a mandate to support and promote artists with disabilities. We do this by presenting works by artists that identify as living with a disability, to public audiences, raising public awareness on their contributions to the arts and culture community, as well as paying artists professional fees for their work.
Kickstart is seeking writers and performers who identify as female and with a disability, for the possible inclusion in Truths, a performance event featuring 6 Artists telling stories about disability, that will take place at The Cultch in July 2019.
These artists will each have 10-15 minutes to read or perform the story they want to tell.
A Q&A with the audience will follow the performance.
All participating artists will be paid for their participation.
Applications must include:
An artist CV or resume which includes your name, address, phone, email, website.
A bio or statement that tells us something about yourself and your work being an artist.
2 samples of your work, either written or on video. If on video, please provide weblinks.
List describing your work sample details.
Deadline for submissions is March 29, 2019
Artists will be notified about the selection results by April 15, 2019
