Call for Artists Description: 

For Asian Heritage Month in May, 2019, the Port Moody Arts Centre will celebrate the art and culture of India with exhibitions and events that showcase the work of South Asian visual artists, writers, and performers living in British Columbia.

The Port Moody Arts Centre invites South Asian visual artists, with contemporary or traditional art practices, to submit 2D and 3D artwork for a multi-artist exhibition, Spirit of India. The accepted media are original fine arts and crafts created by the applying artist in the categories of drawing, painting, sculpture, textiles, glass, leather, metal, and wood.

Application Information:

• There is no cost to apply, but artists accepted into the exhibition will be required to pay an administrative fee of $15 +GST
• All artwork must be gallery quality and ready to hang or display with proper hardware
• The Arts Centre retains 30% of the selling price of artwork offered for sale
• By submitting, you are granting permission to Port Moody Arts Centre to use images of artwork accepted into the exhibition for publicity purposes
• The Port Moody Arts Centre reserves the right to refuse any works not meeting requirements, or deemed inappropriate to hang in the Arts Centre

How to Apply: 

To apply, please complete the online submission form https://form.jotform.com/90295145171253, for which you will need to include the following:

• Contact details
• A biography, artist statement, and CV
• Up to five images of your artwork
• List of images (detailing title, medium, dimensions, and price)
