Call for Artists Description:

The Richmond Public Art Program and Richmond Art Gallery are looking for Musqueam emerging artist or artist collective to participate in the Capture Photography Festival Canada Line Public Art Project. The selected artist or collective will work with Indigenous artist, Roxanne Charles, in the development of a large-scale photo installation at Lansdowne Canada Line Station in Richmond in April 2020.

Roxanne Charles of Semiahmoo First Nation is a cultural historian and artist who works with visual art, oral history and ceremony. Her work documents a variety of issues that reflect her life experiences such as spirituality, identity, urbanization, food security and resource extraction.

Artist Fee: 1,500.00 CAD

Deadline: October 4, 2019, 5:00pm PDT

Duration: April, 2020 - April, 2021

Installation: March, 2020
