Office and Studio Space now available at Progress Lab 1422

 In 2009, a dream between four kindred theatre organizations was realized when Boca Del Lupo, Electric Company, Neworld and Rumble opened Progress Lab 1422, a centre for creation and development in East Vancouver. With a deeply-felt spirit of collaboration, community and resource-sharing, an innovative and co-operative joint venture was forged. These companies formed C-Space to collectively guide Progress Lab.

After 10 years of development, C-Space is innovating again to make room for more resident companies. We are putting out this Request For Proposals for potential companies to join us in bringing Progress lab into its next phase of growth. We welcome submissions from all companies and individuals for a range of tenancy packages. We will be assembling the new core companies based on shared values, use of space and ability to commit to a multi year lease.

C-space is seeking engaged organizations who have the capacity to run their own vibrant company while contributing to the collective through membership on the C-Space board. If you are looking for stable office space and would benefit from regular access to Progress Lab facilities, we would like to hear from you.

  • About your company.

  • How much space you need?

  • How soon do you need office/studio space?

  • How you will use the studio?

  • Why would you like to become a resident company?

  • Anything else we should know?

  • More than 40 sq feet of Secure and shared storage space for files, equipment, costumes, props, sets, etc.

  • Up to 110 square feet of dedicated office space, open concept with natural light

  • More than 20 square feet of secure and shared storage space for files, equipment, costumes, props, sets, etc.

The PL Creation Studio:

  • More than 1800 square feet of creation space (42.5' x 42.5')

  • Sprung wood floor

  • dance floor available

  • 20' ceilings

  • 18' grid: 1' box truss and pipe mix

  • Lighting equipment and board, sound board, PA system, rigging points

  • Seating for more than 50, folding tables

  • Flexible hours and usage

  • Technical services available (not required)

  • Public events permitted

  • Equitable guaranteed booking system

  • More technical specifications available upon request 

Progress Lab Amenities:

  • Over 1800 square feet of shared space

  • Wheelchair Accessible office, shared and studio space

  • Wifi Network throughout all spaces

  • Meeting room access (up to 12 people, private space) with projection and sound capacity

  • Flex space access for dynamic staffing levels or larger meetings (up to 350 square feet)

  • Shared kitchen with refrigeration, dishwasher, microwave and hot plate

  • Three private washrooms (one wheelchair accessible)

  • Adjustable lighting
