Organization Description: 

Indian Summer is a Vancouver-based non-profit arts society. Founded in 2011, we produce the annual multi-arts festival, Indian Summer, as well as program year-round events that aim to normalize diversity both on and off stage.

Job Description: 

  • Seasonal position – 4 days/week with increased hours during the July festival
  • Apr 2 2018 start date
  • Reporting to the Production Manager

Do you love having new and different challenges every day? Are the details of how a thing is put together your thing? The Production Coordinator at Indian Summer Festival will be work with a diversity of artists and event styles to create an atmosphere of warmth, inclusion, creativity, and curiosity.


  • Will plan for and execute selected events as part of Indian summer festival’s programming. 
  • Plan stage technologies and décor as required for events (PowerPoint, Lighting, AV, Backline)
  • Work with the volunteer manager and volunteers to plan the human- power required to execute events
  • Create site safety and crowd flow plans for assigned events
  • Plan materials acquisition and transport for assigned events
  • Collaborate with artist liaison to accommodate the needs of artists
  • Create schedules and other organization documentation for the assigned events
  • Attend and participate in production meetings 
  • Report any outstanding incidents (good and bad) that occur over the festival
  • Communicate regularly with the entire festival team, being proactive about confirming what is needed to execute events and expenses projection


  • Ability to work and think independently in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment 
  • Has a keen interest in arts and ideas, experience in a festival setting
  • Is comfortable working in a quick paced and often changing environment 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a diversity of people
  • Familiar with the google platform, other standard software, and team collaboration programs
  • Drivers licence and multilingualism is an asset
  • Sense of humor, a cool head and problem solving skills a must
