Organization Description:

Lattimer Gallery has been in the same spot for over 30 years and has become a Vancouver institution. It specializes in hand-engraved Native jewellery, sculptures, limited edition prints, and fine art. In 2016, we opened a second location at Vancouver International Airport. We do all advertising, photography, web design, and administration for both of our locations in house, so we encourage those with a broad skill set to apply. We also operate two online stores: Native Art Prints is a website dedicated to vintage First Nations limited edition prints, and Northwest Coast Gifts features unique West Coast giftware and accessories.


Job Description:

We have a position available for a full-time photographer/retail assistant. We will supply all equipment and training will be provided, but photography experience is required. Image editing using the full Adobe Suite is also required. In addition to weekly photography and web editing tasks, the successful applicant will also act as a retail assistant and complete sales on the floor. We are a small business with limited staff, so the range of duties can vary week-to-week.


The primary duties for this position will be photographing artworks, editing images using the full Adobe Suite, updating the gallery website, and retail sales.


At least one year of photography experience. Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is required. Some retail experience is also mandatory. Preference will be given to local applicants who are familiar with Northwest Coast Indigenous Art.
